Three Dead Following Welfare Check in Adams County, Colo

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A welfare check early Friday morning in an Adams County neighborhood resulted in three fatalities, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a home near Lofton Court and Kokai Circle at approximately 5:11 a.m. Upon arrival, they encountered a man armed with a knife. Authorities say multiple attempts were made to de-escalate the situation and disarm the individual, but those efforts were unsuccessful. Deputies ultimately shot the man, who was transported to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead.
Following the incident, deputies conducted the original welfare check. During a safety sweep of the residence, they discovered two individuals deceased inside the home.
The investigation remains ongoing.
