2 arrested after fleeing state police on DuSable Lakeshore Drive, crashing on I-55

An Illinois State Police trooper was conducting a stop on a vehicle wanted in an aggravated battery with a weapon case early Friday morning on DuSable Lakeshore Drive when the car took off and led police on a chase that ended on I-55.

Shortly after 6:15 a.m., the trooper attempted to pull a vehicle over near Montrose Avenue when the vehicle fled. The pursuit proceeded on southbound DuSable Lakeshore Drive onto Southbound I-55. The wanted vehicle crashed at Pulaski and two people fled on foot before being caught, police said.

Both were arrested on the scene
