Confirmed Large and Extremely Dangerous Tornado Near Grand Ridge, Illinois; PDS Warning Issued

A confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was located 7 miles southeast of Grand Ridge, Illinois, or 8 miles northeast of Streator, at 11:50 p.m. CDT, according to the National Weather Service.

The tornado was moving northeast at 15 mph, with authorities declaring a Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS).

Anyone in or near the tornado’s projected path should take cover immediately. Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows.
