Father Accused of Beheading 1-Year-Old Son in Sacramento County, California

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in Sacramento County after allegedly killing his 1-year-old son. Authorities say Andrey Demskiy is accused of beheading the child during a domestic disturbance early Friday morning.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home in Antelope around 4:15 a.m. after receiving a call about a domestic incident.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with a woman outside the residence who claimed her husband, Demskiy, had assaulted her and her mother. The woman’s mother was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies attempted to communicate with Demskiy, who refused to leave the residence. The woman informed deputies that her son was still inside and might be injured after being thrown by his father.
Deputies entered the home and detained Demskiy. Inside, they discovered the child’s severed head in a bedroom, where Demskiy had been located.
Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between Demskiy, his wife, and his mother-in-law. Authorities allege that after the women exited the home, Demskiy used a knife to decapitate the child.
Demskiy has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is being held without bail.
