Tornado Observed: Warning Continues for Oak Lawn, Calumet City and Chicago Heights, Illinois

A Tornado Warning continues for Oak Lawn, Calumet City and Chicago Heights, Illinois, until 11:15 a.m. CDT Tuesday, with the National Weather Service indicating that a tornado has been observed.

The warning also includes Hometown, Alsip, Blue Island, Midlothian, Oak Forest, Harvey, Dolton, Homewood, Lansing, Lynwood, Richton Park, Steger and surrounding communities.

Approximately 884,813 people, 356 schools and 13 hospitals are within the warning area.

This is a dangerous situation. Residents in the path should take shelter immediately in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows.
