IDF Says Drone Intercepted Near Syria Border; Launch Source Under Investigation

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its air force intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that was detected near the Syrian border on Saturday.

In a statement, the IDF said the drone was intercepted shortly after being identified operating in the border area.

“The Air Force intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle that was identified in the area of the Syrian border. The source of the launch is under investigation,” the military said.

The IDF added that no public alerts or warning sirens were activated, stating that the response was carried out in accordance with established operational policy.

Israeli authorities have not yet identified who launched the drone, and an investigation into its origin is ongoing.
