CENTCOM: Two U.S. Service Members Killed, One Missing After Iranian Missile and Drone Attack in Jordan

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that two U.S. service members were killed and one remains missing following an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack in Jordan on July 17.

In a statement released Saturday, CENTCOM said U.S. and partner forces were defending against the attack when the casualties occurred.

The military also confirmed that four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals after sustaining injuries. All four have since been treated and discharged, while other personnel evaluated for minor injuries have returned to duty.

CENTCOM said it is withholding the identities of the fallen service members until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified, in accordance with military policy.

The incident marks a significant escalation in regional tensions as the United States continues military operations and defensive measures amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran.
