Philadelphia police have released new images showing a second suspect wanted in connection with the South Philly mass shooting that left eight people injured earlier this month.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set male, last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue sweatpants, light gray sneakers, and a large gold chain with a charm. The image was taken at the scene of the shooting, which occurred around 3:53 a.m. on July 5, 2025, at 7 Elements restaurant, bar and lounge on Washington Avenue.
Authorities have already arrested one suspect, Michael Welton, a 43-year-old security guard who was on duty at the time. He faces multiple charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
According to investigators, a dispute broke out inside the restaurant that escalated into a physical altercation involving knives. During the chaos, at least one individual pulled a firearm and began shooting. Another security guard returned fire.
In total, eight people were shot — including one security guard. Thankfully, all victims are in stable condition and expected to recover.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the second suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact Philadelphia authorities.
This South Philly mass shooting is yet another stark reminder of the ongoing gun violence crisis in American cities.
