WSJ: U.S. and China Consider Formal AI Talks Ahead of Trump–Xi Summit in Beijing

The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, reports that Washington and Beijing are considering launching formal discussions on artificial intelligence.
According to the report, the White House and the Chinese government are exploring the possibility of placing AI on the agenda of the upcoming summit in Beijing between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The report adds that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is expected to lead the American side in the proposed AI talks, while China has not yet decided who will head its delegation.
