Terrorist Attack in Golders Green Leaves Two Injured, Suspect in Custody

Authorities in Golders Green have arrested a 45-year-old man following a stabbing attack that has been officially classified as a terrorist incident. The suspect remains in custody on suspicion of attempted murder, with police confirming he has a history of serious violence and mental health issues.
According to Metropolitan Police Service Commissioner Mark Rowley, two victims—a 76-year-old man and a 34-year-old man—suffered stab wounds during the attack. Officers responding to the scene were also assaulted as they intervened.
Police initially feared the suspect might have been carrying an explosive device, though this has not been confirmed. The incident is now under investigation by counter-terrorism units, who are examining whether the local Jewish community was deliberately targeted.
Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor stated that inquiries are ongoing as authorities work to determine the motive behind the attack.
The incident has heightened security concerns across London, with officials noting an increase in police activity in recent weeks. Commissioner Rowley also called for stronger public condemnation of such acts, questioning the lack of unified response to recent attacks.
