Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Elberta, Perdido Beach and Lillian, Alabama

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Elberta, Perdido Beach and Lillian, Alabama, as powerful storms threaten parts of Baldwin County with damaging winds and hail.

The warning remains in effect until 5:15 p.m. CDT Sunday, with residents in and around the warned area urged to stay alert as thunderstorms move through the region.

Damaging Winds and Hail Possible in Baldwin County

The severe thunderstorms could produce wind gusts of up to 60 mph, strong enough to damage trees, power lines and unsecured outdoor objects. Penny-sized hail is also possible within the warned area.

Communities potentially affected include Elberta, Perdido Beach, Lillian and surrounding areas of southeastern Baldwin County, near the Alabama-Florida state line.

Residents Urged to Seek Shelter

People in the path of the storm should move indoors and stay away from windows while the Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains active. Drivers should also be prepared for rapidly changing conditions, including heavy rain, strong wind gusts and reduced visibility.

Residents should continue monitoring local weather alerts for any extension, cancellation or additional severe weather warnings.
