Tornado Warning Issued for Blairsville, Derry and Ligonier, Pennsylvania

A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Westmoreland and Indiana counties in Pennsylvania until 5 p.m. EDT Sunday, August 16.
The National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was detected over Derry at 4:34 p.m. The radar-indicated storm was moving east at approximately 45 mph.
Communities in the Warning Area
Locations potentially affected include Blairsville, Derry, Ligonier, New Florence, Seward, Bolivar and Loyalhanna Gorge.
Flying debris could be dangerous, while mobile homes may be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, vehicles and trees is also possible.
Seek Shelter Immediately
People in the warning area should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows.
Anyone outdoors, inside a vehicle or in a mobile home should immediately seek shelter in the nearest substantial building and protect themselves from flying debris.
