Active Shooter Report on York Rail Trail Ruled Unfounded, Police Say

Police in York, Pennsylvania, responded Friday afternoon to a report of an active shooter along the York County Rail Trail, but authorities later determined the report was unfounded.
Officers were dispatched to the area near the bus terminal in York City after receiving the initial report.
Police searched the area and investigated the incident, but officials later confirmed that no active shooter was found.
The response came just two days after police conducted targeted enforcement operations along the Rail Trail.
Those earlier operations resulted in several arrests, including two felony cases related to alleged drug activity and the arrest of a wanted individual.
Authorities have not released additional details about what prompted Friday’s active-shooter report.
