Tornado Warning Continues for Shadwell, Virginia With 2-Inch Hail Possible

A Tornado Warning remains in effect for Shadwell, Virginia, until 6:00 p.m. EDT Friday, as radar continues to indicate rotation capable of producing a tornado.

The National Weather Service says the storm may also produce hail up to 2 inches in diameter, creating a significant threat to vehicles, roofs and exposed property.

Around 4,600 people are within the warned area.

Residents in and around Shadwell should take shelter immediately, preferably in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

People outdoors, in vehicles or in mobile homes should seek substantial shelter as quickly as possible and protect themselves from flying debris.

The warning area is east of Charlottesville and includes communities near Shadwell as the storm continues moving through central Virginia.
