Tornado Warning Issued for Scottsville, Virginia With Half-Dollar-Size Hail Possible

A Tornado Warning has been issued for Scottsville, Virginia, as radar indicates rotation capable of producing a tornado.
The warning remains in effect until 6:45 p.m. EDT Friday.
The National Weather Service says the storm may also produce half-dollar-size hail, creating an additional threat to vehicles, roofs and exposed property.
Around 14,000 people are within the warned area.
Residents in and around Scottsville should take shelter immediately, preferably in a basement or a small interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
People outdoors, in vehicles or in mobile homes should seek substantial shelter as quickly as possible and protect themselves from flying debris.
Conditions may deteriorate rapidly as the rotating storm moves through central Virginia.
