Ukrainian Drone Strike Kills at Least 12, Injures 39 in Russia’s Tatarstan
A Ukrainian drone strike on Nizhnekamsk in Russia’s Tatarstan region killed at least 12 people and injured 39 others on Monday, according to Russian authorities.
The attack reportedly struck industrial and civilian targets in Nizhnekamsk, a major industrial city in central Russia, hundreds of kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
The strike came during a large overnight wave of Ukrainian drone attacks across Russia. Russian authorities said air defenses intercepted or destroyed 456 drones, with multiple regions targeted.
Reports from Nizhnekamsk also indicated activity around the city’s oil-refining infrastructure, although the full extent of damage and the precise targets of the attack remain under assessment.
The casualty figures could change as authorities continue assessing the aftermath of the strikes.
