Dust Storm Warning Issued for Parts of Arizona; Near-Zero Visibility Threatens I-10 Travel

A Dust Storm Warning is in effect for parts of Arizona until 11:00 p.m. MST Sunday, with the National Weather Service warning of near-zero visibility in blowing dust and life-threatening travel conditions.

The warning affects areas including Buckeye, Tonopah, Wintersburg, Arlington and Aguila, as well as portions of Interstate 10 and U.S. Route 60.

Approximately 47,505 people are within the warning area. Drivers traveling along I-10 and other affected highways could encounter rapidly deteriorating visibility.

Motorists caught in blowing dust should avoid driving into the dust storm and follow official safety instructions as conditions can become dangerous with little warning.
