Missing Alert: Boston police search for 84-year-old James Clarke with dementia

BOSTON, Mass. — The Boston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 84-year-old James Clarke of Roxbury, who was reported missing on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
Clarke was last seen leaving his residence on Hawthorne Street in Roxbury at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1.
He is described as a Black man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat and a blue flannel shirt. Police said Clarke suffers from dementia and may be walking with a limp.
Authorities said he is known to frequent Nubian Square, Ruggles Station, Stop & Shop locations, and various MBTA bus routes and stations.
Anyone with information about James Clarke’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 or contact District B-2 (Roxbury) Detectives at (617) 343-4275 immediately. The investigation is ongoing.
