Fayetteville man arrested after home robbery while impersonating police

A Fayetteville man was arrested after police said he impersonated an officer and robbed a home.

Arrest and charges

Jayden Boone, 27, dressed as a police officer to gain access to a home and stole money from the residents after telling them he was working undercover.

According to warrants, Boone was wearing a police uniform and a ballistic vest, with a handgun in the holster and presented a police badge to the residents when they opened the door.

Around 3:30 a.m., Fayetteville police officers responded to a robbery call in the 2000 block of Osceola Drive Sunday morning.

Police said they found Boone near the residence, still dressed as an officer.

He was arrested in May after stealing two bottles of tequila from a Cumberland County ABC store.

Charges and court proceedings

He was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of stolen goods, and impersonating an officer. Additionally, Boone had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

He failed to appear in court, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
