Ludlow, MA Plane Crash Kills Two, FAA and NTSB Respond

MASSACHUSETTS STATE, Massachusetts — Two people are dead after a small plane crashed into dense woods near the Springfield Reservoir along the Ludlow-Belchertown line, following a search that lasted for hours.
Massachusetts State Police and local first responders later located the wreckage and confirmed the two fatalities. The emergency began around 9 p.m.
Saturday, when fire officials say a small plane crash was first reported in Ludlow, according to NBC Boston. Reports also described a possible plane down in the area.
State Police responded to reports of the crash near Ludlow, close to the Belchertown line, but for hours authorities did not know whether the plane had even been located, let alone whether anyone had been hurt.
