AEW Wrestler Andy “The Butcher” Williams Dies at 48 After Collapsing During Match

Professional wrestler and musician Andy Williams, known to AEW fans as “The Butcher,” has died at age 48 after collapsing during a wrestling match near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Williams suffered a medical emergency at the end of his match during an Enjoy Wrestling event at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale.

CPR Administered at the Venue

Medical personnel at the venue immediately began CPR before paramedics arrived and transported Williams to a hospital.

The remainder of the wrestling event was canceled following the emergency.

Williams’ death was confirmed Sunday, with All Elite Wrestling releasing a statement mourning the former AEW performer.

AEW Pays Tribute to “The Butcher”

AEW described Williams as a respected figure who successfully crossed from the music world into professional wrestling.

Before becoming widely known as The Butcher, Williams spent more than two decades as the guitarist for the influential metalcore band Every Time I Die.

He later became a recognizable wrestling figure alongside his longtime tag-team partner, The Blade.

Cause of Death Not Yet Announced

A cause of death has not yet been publicly released.

Tributes from wrestlers, musicians and fans began spreading Sunday following confirmation of Williams’ death.
