Reagan National Airport, Washington, D.C. Ground Delays Issued as Thunderstorms Disrupt Flights

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is under an FAA ground delay program Sunday as thunderstorms disrupt air traffic around Washington, D.C., with some arriving flights delayed an average of about 35 minutes.

DCA Flights Delayed

The FAA says flights departing for Reagan National are currently experiencing delays averaging approximately 35 minutes because of thunderstorms affecting the Washington airspace.

General airborne arrival delays at DCA are currently running at 15 minutes or less, although individual flights may face longer disruptions.

Northeast Air Traffic Disrupted

Thunderstorms moving through the region are also affecting major flight routes across the Northeast.

The FAA has activated weather-related traffic management measures around Washington and is continuing to evaluate additional restrictions as storms move east and northeast.
