UPDATE: A Loss Prevention Officer was injured during a shooting at North Star Mall in San Antonio

A Loss Prevention Officer was injured during a shooting at North Star Mall.

The incident happened around 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the 7400 block of San Pedro Avenue.

According to the police, the two suspects, a man and a woman, shoplifted from Macy’s and were confronted by a Loss Prevention Officer.

Police say the man ended up shooting the Loss Prevention Officer in the leg.

The Loss Prevention Officer hid inside a storage room after the shooting, according to officials. Emergency Medical Services had to go inside to get the officer out.

Macy’s was evacuated as a precaution since the suspects may have reentered the mall, according to police.

Authorities did not find the two suspects inside of the Macy’s; police believe the suspects may have fled.

The San Antonio Police Department’s Raven and Eagle Units were both on the scene assisting in the search for the suspect.

When found, the suspects will be facing a charge of Aggravated Robbery, police say.
