Al Ain vs Al Nassr: Cristiano Ronaldo’s Side Crushed 4-0 in AFC Champions League Opener

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr suffered a stunning 4-0 defeat against Al Ain in their opening match of the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Elite campaign on Tuesday.

Al Ain took control of the match at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium through Houssine Rahimi, who scored twice to give the UAE club a commanding 2-0 advantage.

His older brother, Soufiane Rahimi, added Al Ain’s third goal in the second half as the home side continued to dominate.

Giorgos Giakoumakis then completed the rout with a fourth goal late in the match.

Ronaldo started for Al Nassr but was unable to find the net as the Saudi club endured a disastrous opening night in the continental competition.

The Portuguese star was also targeted by chants of “Messi, Messi” from sections of the Al Ain crowd before and during the match. Ronaldo initially responded by laughing and applauding the supporters.

By the final whistle, however, Al Ain had delivered one of the biggest surprises of the opening round with a convincing 4-0 victory.

The result leaves Al Nassr facing immediate pressure after a heavy defeat in their first AFC Champions League Elite match of the season.
