New Flood Warning Issued for Hancock County, Indiana as Flooding Threatens Indianapolis Area

A new Flood Warning has been issued for Hancock County in central Indiana as thunderstorms continue producing heavy rainfall and flooding across the Indianapolis area.

The National Weather Service issued the warning at 8:52 a.m. EDT Saturday, warning that flooding is already occurring or expected to begin shortly. (National Weather Service)

Up to 2 More Inches of Rain Possible

Up to one inch of rain has already fallen, while thunderstorms could produce as much as two additional inches across the warned area.

Flooding could affect rivers, creeks, streams, roads and other low-lying locations.

Areas affected include Indianapolis, Lawrence, Greenfield, McCordsville, Fortville, Shirley and Wilkinson.

The Flood Warning remains in effect until noon EDT Saturday. (National Weather Service)
