UK Issues Nationwide Emergency Alert as Wildfire Risk Reaches Very High Levels

The UK government has issued a major emergency alert warning millions of people of a very high wildfire risk as extreme heat and dry conditions continue across the country.

The alert was sent directly to mobile phones across England and Wales, warning the public not to light barbecues, campfires, fireworks or anything else that could ignite dry vegetation.
