Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Kellyton, Alabama With 60 MPH Winds

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Kellyton, Alabama, with damaging wind gusts of up to 60 mph possible.

The warning remains in effect until 2:00 p.m. CDT Friday.

The National Weather Service says the storm may also produce pea-sized hail as it moves through the area.

Around 7,100 people are within the warned area.

Strong winds may be capable of bringing down tree limbs, damaging unsecured outdoor objects and causing isolated power outages.

Residents in and around Kellyton should move indoors and stay away from windows until the storm passes.

Drivers should also be prepared for heavy rain, reduced visibility and rapidly changing road conditions.
