Tornado Warning for Denison, Schleswig and Charter Oak, Iowa Until 5:15 AM CDT

A Tornado Warning is in effect for Denison, Schleswig and Charter Oak, Iowa, until 5:15 a.m. CDT Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning is based on radar-indicated rotation, meaning a tornado could develop or already be occurring within the warned storm.

Other communities in the warning area include Kiron, Boyer, Deloit, Vail and Arion. Approximately 12,532 people, 11 schools and one hospital are within the warning zone.

Residents should take shelter immediately in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows until the warning expires or is canceled.
