Video: Perez Hilton TikTok livestream prompts police response at Miami home

MIAMI, Fla. — A TikTok livestream involving celebrity blogger Perez Hilton prompted multiple emergency calls and a response from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office after viewers reported concerns about his welfare.

Deputies responded to Hilton’s Miami residence, where family members were outside the home. According to the sheriff’s office, officers chose a tactical de-escalation approach, saying there was no immediate threat to others and that crisis intervention techniques were the safest response while continuing to monitor the situation.

Authorities said the decision was intended to reduce the risk of injury and allow time for communication during what appeared to be a mental health-related incident.

Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., is best known for his celebrity gossip website and has more recently focused on social media, podcasts, and livestreams.

The sheriff’s office has not released further information about the incident.
