Scattered storms to bring up to 4 inches of rain to Southwest Florida Wednesday

MIAMI, Fla. — Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across interior and Southwest Florida on Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say a southeast flow will increase rain chances to 75–90% across the region.
Rainfall totals are expected to reach:
- 1 to 2 inches across much of the interior and Southwest Florida.
- Localized amounts of 2 to 4 inches where stronger thunderstorms develop.
The strongest storms may also produce:
- Frequent lightning
- Gusty, erratic winds
- Localized flooding in areas receiving the heaviest rainfall.
Residents are encouraged to monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared for hazardous driving conditions during the afternoon and evening.
