Apple restores Telegram to App Store after removal over child safety policy violation

CUPERTINO, Calif. — Apple says it briefly removed Telegram from the App Store after a review found content that violated its strict policies prohibiting child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
According to Apple, the messaging app was restored after Telegram promptly removed the offending content and permanently banned the user responsible for posting it.
Apple said the temporary removal was part of its enforcement of App Store guidelines designed to prevent the distribution of child sexual abuse material. Telegram has not publicly commented beyond taking the reported enforcement actions.
