Teen suspect arrested after deadly Yonkers shooting leaves 1 dead, 4 critically injured

YONKERS, N.Y. — A 20-year-old man was killed and four teenagers were critically wounded in a targeted shooting Sunday night in Yonkers, New York, police said.
The shooting happened around 8:43 p.m. near Elm Street and Palisade Avenue. The victim died after suffering a gunshot wound to the back.
The four surviving victims, ages 16, 15, 15, and 14, were hospitalized in critical but stable condition, according to the Yonkers Police Department.
Police arrested a 15-year-old male suspect at the scene and recovered a loaded firearm along with ballistic evidence.
Investigators said the shooting was targeted, adding that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains active as detectives work to determine what led to the gunfire.
