Phoenix breaks record warm low as overnight heat persists across Arizona

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Overnight temperatures remained exceptionally high across parts of Arizona on Sunday, with Phoenix Sky Harbor recording a low of 94°F (34°C), breaking the previous record warm low of 93°F, which was set in 2024, according to the National Weather Service.

Other overnight lows included:

• Phoenix: 94°F (Normal: 85°F) — New record warm low
• Yuma: 89°F (Normal: 84°F) — Tied the record warm low set in 2018
• El Centro, California: 87°F (Normal: 80°F) — Just below the record warm low of 89°F, set in 2018

The unusually warm overnight temperatures offer little relief from the ongoing heat wave, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for vulnerable populations. Forecasters urge residents to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, and use air conditioning whenever possible.
