New Jersey State Police seek help identifying man whose remains were found in 1982

BRIGANTINE, N.J. — New Jersey State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man whose skeletal remains were discovered in Atlantic County more than four decades ago.

Investigators have released a composite sketch of the victim, who is believed to have been a white man, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, and 35 to 45 years old at the time of his death.

Authorities believe the man died sometime between 1981 and 1982. His remains were found in a marshy meadow near Golden Hammock Thorofare in Brigantine.

Police hope the newly released sketch will prompt someone to recognize the victim and provide information that could finally help identify him and solve the decades-old mystery.
