Barack Community Center, south side recovery continues after August tornado

Nearly two months after an August tornado tore through Columbus' South Side , residents are still repairing their homes and cleaning up storm damage as the city works to rebuild damaged public facilities.

On E. Hinman Avenue, Kenneth Carter remembers sitting on his front porch when the storm hit.

The tornado damaged his home, blowing out windows and sending portions of roofs from nearby buildings into his backyard.

“You can see what Mother Nature did,” Carter said while walking through the damage Wednesday.
