Court system hasn’t notified NCDOJ of data breach that exposed people’s private info

A flaw on the Administrative Office of Courts website exposed hundreds of peoples’ private information but no one notified the North Carolina Department of Justice about the vulnerability.

A investigation found that people summoned for jury duty in North Carolina had sensitive personal information posted online where it could be accessed by anyone.

The exposed information included social security numbers, driver’s licenses and medical records.

The personal information was blocked from public view after began investigating and brought it to the attention of state officials.
