Hockley County Sheriff’s Office investigates fatal shooting in Levelland, Texas

The Hockley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in the 2500 block of Mockingbird Lane that left one person dead.

Law enforcement responded to the location in reference to a reported shooting. One individual is deceased as a result of the incident.

Darryl Martinez, 27, has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting, according to the sheriff’s office.

There is no ongoing threat to the community or the public at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
