Pinetown man charged with sexual exploitation of a minor

A Pinetown man is accused of possessing a digital file containing an explicit image of a minor, according to an arrest warrant.

Arrest and charges

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Edwin Garcia on Friday, Sept. 25.

According to the warrant, Garcia is accused of knowingly possessing a digital file containing a visual representation of a teenage girl engaged in sexual activity.

Charges and court proceedings

Online court records show Garcia is charged with third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The alleged offense date is listed as Oct. 4, 2024.

Garcia posted a $20,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, September 28.
