Tucson, Arizona Fire rescues injured hiker in Tucson Mountain Park trail

The Tucson Fire Department responded to reports of an injured hiker in need of rescue in the Tucson Mountain Park trail system on Sept. 26.

Crews arrived at the scene at around 10:43 a.m. and found the hiker five miles from the Richard Genser Starr Pass trailhead.

The TFD said the hiker had become lost and tired and ended up on the other side of the mountain.

Crews loaded the hiker onto a “big wheel” stretcher to assist the hiker off the trail. “Hiking in the desert can be challenging,” the TFD said.

“Hike with a buddy, know your limits, bring plenty of water, and let someone know your plans before heading out.”
