Arunachal: Namsai Police Arrest 5th Accused in Child Trafficking Case, Rescue Tally Hits 51

Police identified the latest accused as Ema Loyi, a resident of Kaba village.

Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai Police have arrested the fifth accused in an alleged child trafficking and placement case, taking the total number of arrests to five.

So far, 51 persons, including four adults, have been traced and rescued in connection with the case.

The rescued minors were traced to several locations, including Mechuka, Aalo, Pasighat, Naharlagun, Itanagar and Longding.

Charges and court proceedings

Police identified the latest accused as Ema Loyi, a resident of Kaba village, who was allegedly found to be a key facilitator during the investigation into Namsai PS Case No.

Namsai Superintendent of Police (SP) Sangey Thinley said the arrests and tracing operations followed sustained investigation, field verification and coordinated efforts across districts and states.

The investigation is being carried out in coordination with the District Child Protection Officer, Child Welfare Committee, Child Helpline and other child protection agencies.
