Three dead after wrong-way crash on McCarran Blvd

Three people are dead following a suspected impaired driving crash late Friday night on South McCarran Boulevard, according to the Reno Police Department.

Official response and confirmed impact

Officers responded just before midnight to South McCarran Boulevard between Sierra Madre Drive and Rio Poco Road.

Police say a woman driving an SUV the wrong way struck a westbound passenger car carrying a man and a woman.

All three individuals died as a result of the crash. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor.

Incident under investigation

The identities of the victims are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification, and the Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the ongoing investigation.
