St. Ambrose University President Emeritus dies

Dr. Edward Rogalski, President Emeritus and St. Ambrose University’s 12th president died this week. Rogalski spent nearly four decades before his death.

Official response and confirmed impact

University officials said Rogalski joined the staff in 1968 and later became president in 1987, which is the same year St. Ambrose formally became a university.

During Rogalski’s time leading St. Ambrose, the university launched its first doctoral programs and increased resident capacity.

The university also completed its University Library, new residence halls, and the Rogalski Center.

The university said it will provide information at a later time regarding funeral arrangements and the opportunities to honor Rogalski’s life.

It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Dr. Edward Rogalski, President Emeritus and the 12th president of St. Ambrose University.

Dr. Rogalski’s relationship with St. Ambrose spanned nearly four decades.

He joined St. Ambrose in 1968 and served the University in a number of leadership roles before becoming president in 1987.
