Portland K9 Kylo killed in police shooting on what was supposed to be the dog’s last shift

“Unfortunately, K9 Kylo died as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting,” the Portland Police Bureau wrote. Kylo served with the Portland Police Bureau for six years.

Sept. 24 was supposed to be the dog’s last shift.

The bureau said it will soon release more information about Kylo, including his accomplishments during his six-year career.

The Portland Police Bureau Homicide Unit responded to the scene to investigate the shooting.
