New Caledonia Earthquake Magnitude Revised to 6.6

The earthquake near Tadine, New Caledonia, has been revised to a preliminary magnitude of 6.6, with its epicenter located 80 kilometers east-northeast of the town.

An earlier estimate put the earthquake’s magnitude at 7.0. The latest magnitude and location remain preliminary and may be revised as additional seismic data is reviewed.
