Over 167,000 pounds of meat recalled nationwide over fake USDA inspection label

More than 167,000 pounds of raw meat have been recalled nationwide after federal officials said the products were produced without the required inspection and falsely labeled with a U.S. Department of Agriculture inspection mark.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, the recalled pork, beef and goat products were packaged and shipped without federal inspection.

North Carolina-based Star Meat Delivery Inc., is recalling about167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat products, according to a Tuesday announcement from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The recalled meat was produced on various dates before Tuesday's recall announcement.
