He was taken to UAB where he was pronounced dead just before 10pm.

The Jefferson County Coroner announced the name for a man found while fire fighters were fighting a blaze in Birmingham.

Fire response and evacuations

The Jefferson County coroner says 57 year old Kerry Orland Colston was found while fire fighters were battling a blaze in Birmingham.

The Fire department was called out to a house in the 3600 block of 42nd avenue north.

That's when Colston's body was found before 9pm Thursday night. He was taken to UAB where he was pronounced dead just before 10pm.

Cause of fire under investigation

The cause of death has not been released and police are still looking into the circumstances.
