SLED: Georgia woman additionally charged with intimidation of Upstate court officials

A Georgia woman already facing an assault charge in the Upstate is facing a new charge for allegedly intimidating court officials, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Arrest and charges

Paterson remains held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center, where she was previously booked after being extradited from Georgia.

According to an arrest warrant, Paterson was in possession of a firearm on Aug. 10 when she unlawfully threatened to kill a victim.

Charges and court proceedings

Lori Angelique Paterson, 51, of Carrollton, Georgia, was charged Wednesday, Sept. 23, with intimidation of court officials, jurors, or witnesses.

SLED initially charged Paterson with first-degree assault and battery on Aug. 13.

A newly released warrant states that on the same date, Paterson willfully used threats to intimidate or impede a court official in the discharge of their duties, or attempted to obstruct the administration of justice.
