For those of us that live in the United States, the seemingly endless shaking that we have been witnessing in California this year has been quite alarming.

Within the past 7 days alone, there have been 836 earthquakes in California and Nevada. Southern California has been particularly active in recent days.

From Friday night to Saturday morning, a swarm of “more than 80 quakes” shook the region…

Dozens of small earthquakes have struck across Southern California within the past 24 hours, including more than 80 quakes occurring in Los Angeles County, local officials say.

The region was hit by six earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 or greater during this time, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The strongest of these quakes was a 3.4-magnitude recorded off the coast of Catalina Island early Saturday morning.
