Man in critical condition after stabbing in downtown Seattle, Washington, found on light rail

An investigation is underway after a stabbing victim boarded the Link light rail Sunday afternoon in Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood.

According to the King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), Sound Transit Deputies initially responded to reports of a man bleeding from his torso at the Symphony Station at Third Ave. around 4:30 p.m.

Firefighters then arrived and treated the approximately 30-year-old man, before paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center — where he remains in critical condition as of Sunday night.

Seattle Police, who now have jurisdiction over the investigation, stated that the victim was reportedly stabbed in Occidental Square within the Pioneer Square neighborhood, before walking to the nearby light rail stop and waiting for a train.
