6-Year-Old Jenna Menias Identified After Fatal School Bus Crash in Frankfort, Illinois

Authorities have identified the 6-year-old girl who died after being struck by a school bus in Frankfort, Illinois, as Jenna Menias.

The collision happened at approximately 3:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Aberdeen Road in the Prestwick neighborhood.

Police found Jenna unresponsive and suffering from serious injuries. Witnesses and emergency responders immediately performed CPR before she was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Several students were aboard the school bus when the crash occurred. They were evaluated by emergency personnel at the scene and later reunited with their families. No other injuries were reported.

Frankfort School District 157-C said it is providing emotional support to students and staff affected by the tragedy.

Police have not announced what caused the collision, and no charges have been filed. The investigation remains underway.
